30-year fixed mortgage rates averaged 3.99%, down from last week’s 4.00% average. The last time the 30-year fixed mortgage ratesdropped below 4.00% was Oct. 6 when it averaged 3.94%. Last year at this time, 30-year mortgage rates averaged 4.17%.
15-year fixed mortgage rates averaged 3.30%, dropping slightly from last week’s 3.31% average. Last year at this time, 15-year rates averaged 3.57%.
Now if we can get the banks to actually lend the funds at this rate is the bigger question.
